Connie scoops Best Actress award at HorrorHound Weekend Film Festival!

Great news! Connie is now an award-winning film! We’ve bagged our first award from five nominations in just a few short months. We couldn’t be happier!

Our wonderful lead, Catrin Stewart, won Best Actress at HorrorHound Weekend Film Festival in Ohio, US! Catrin is an incredibly talented actress and played both Connie and Dolly in the film, that’s thirty four scenes all shot in just two days.

Thanks a million to HorrorHound for making us an award-winning film! Even Connie is bouncing around!

Connie nominated for Best Actress Award at HorrorHound Weekend Film Festival!

Though the team behind Connie are now hard at work on three forthcoming short films, Blood Shed, Hank: Portrait of a Serial Killer and TickTock, the little felt puppet that is Connie is still on the first leg of her film festival journey. It’s been an incredible six or seven months so far, and we’ve also had the wonderful news that Connie has not only been selected for the HorrorHound Weekend Film Festival in Ohio, US, we’re also nominated for the Best Actress award for our superb lead, Catrin Stewart!

This is wonderful recognition for Catrin’s work on the film. Catrin had to play both Connie and Dolly, often in the same scenes – not just vocally, but also ‘operating’ Connie for a large proportion of the film. This was a great mental and physical challenge, and one that Catrin pulled off with aplomb. She’s a tremendous talent and if anyone deserves recognition for the final product, it’s her.

HorrorHound is a great convention and film festival all in one, taking place 17th-19th March in Cincinnati. It’s CRAMMED to the ceiling with special guests, including Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chandler Riggs, Tobin Bell, John Waters, Lloyd Kaufman… Team Connie is devastated to not be able to attend! But, you lucky people can get tickets HERE.

Connie is screening as part of the Late Night Laughs slot on the Saturday night (or technically early Sunday AM), before Space Babes from Outer Space. Check out their cute schedule! Congratulations to Jamie Hooper – a friend of Team Connie – whose short Unto Death, which is a real must-see, has also been selected for the Sunday.

Congratulations to all the HorrorHound nominees. It’s very stiff competition. This is our fifth award nomination. We’re currently also nominated for the iHorror Award for Best Short Film, which is announced at the end of the month, so March is shaping up to be super, smashing, great.

Connie nominated for an iHorror award!

2017 is shaping up to be quite a year for Connie. We’ve just had the news that the film is nominated for an iHorror award! The awards recognise excellence, hard work and determination in the horror genre.

The much coveted statue is poured from solid metal from the RS Owens company, whose clients include the Oscars and the Emmys, no less!

Previous iHorror award winners include It Follows, Ash vs Evil Dead, Creep, Insidious Chapter 3, Bruce Campbell, Mark Duplass and Melissa McBride! So we’re thrilled to be nominated!

There’ll be more details to follow soon, but the whole team behind Connie is keeping all fingers, toes and other appendages crossed. It’s our fourth award nomination in just a few short months, and Connie would kill for a win. She needs some bling in her life.

A massive thanks to the iHorror team, judges and iHorror readers. We’re delighted!

Connie picked as a top 10 short of 2016!

Connie has made From Dusk Till Con’s top 10 shorts of 2016 list and the team could not be happier. She’s in great company, standing shoulder to shoulder with a number of stablemates from the festival circuit this year including The Stylist, Mauvaises Tetes and The Babysitter Murders. To see where Connie placed, head to the FDTC page.

Since bursting on to the scene just four months ago at Horror Channel FrightFest in London back in August, Connie has had garnered fantastic reviews, a flurry of festival screenings and several award nominations in the US. And this is only the beginning of her festival run. Team Connie is well and truly popping corks right now and enjoying some fizz.

Thanks to FDTC for the support!

Happy New Year to one and all and you and yours from the little felt-mouthed puppet diva herself.

Connie featured in SFX magazine, January 2017 edition – out now!

The little felt-mouthed hellion has made quite an impression on the lovely folks at SFX magazine! Her charm seems limitless!

Connie is featured in the glorious SFX January 2017 edition, issue number 281. It’s out in print (photo below) and digital formats, and available from all good newsagents and via this link. If you aren’t tempted enough by the recommendation and picture of Connie alone, then you may well be swayed when you find out it’s a bumper Star Wars: Rogue One edition. It’s FANTASTIC.

Best Screenplay (Short) award nomination by Nightmares Film Festival

More incredible news for team  Connie! Our writer/director, Cat Davies, has been nominated for an award – Best Screenplay (Short) – by the judges at Nightmares Film Festival, Ohio, US!

Both Cat and Connie are shocked and have been celebrating with coffee, cake, 80s music on repeat and lots of swearing in disbelief.

This is fantastic recognition for our writer/director’s months of research into the uncanny, and the use of dolls and dummies in horror cinema, and her hard work in crafting the screenplay.

Huge thanks to Nightmares for this nomination. We’re really honoured, and the fellow nominees are impressive. We’ll wait with bated breath for the outcome!

Connie’s North American Premiere at Nightmares is this Thursday, as part of the Horror Comedy shorts block from 10pm to midnight. Festival passes, VIP All Access Passes and single screening tickets all available here.
